Ministry Overview: Jochy and Tammi Hernández serve as bridge builders in the Dominican Republic for those who feel unwelcome by the traditional church. God has called us to do a new thing in every sense of the word. Most of our ministry is based on sharing Jesus through the language of hip-hop/rap, sports, and gathering together as family—spending time together and eating with one another. God has been doing a new thing in the aspect of allowing Jochy (artistic name IronHeart) to use a fresh language to reach a new generation through music.
Tal Como Soy (Just as I Am) is a house-based church busting at the seams, and our emphasis is on building a family and breaking down walls of religious discrimination and teaching and showing the true character of a loving God. Deeply ingrained in all aspects of ministry is the understanding that God loves and accepts us as we are—and loves us so much that He doesn’t want to leave us where we are.
