Ministry Overview: Our main ministry focus is to provide spiritual care and practical support to Christians working in the arts through the ministry of La Fonderie, a French association created in 2002 for this purpose. The artists we serve are in Paris and around France. They have a common commitment to work as Christians in culture, to listen and understand the real and perceived needs and questions of their society, and to respond with art that communicates the heart of God. They share similar challenges, questions, and desires unique to their work as artists and as followers of Christ. La Fonderie provides Christian community, a place to be inspired artistically and to be encouraged in their faith. We provide monthly online teachings, spiritual resources, weekly prayer gatherings, annual forums, individual care, spiritual direction, and retreats.
We work with a team of five people. Our own responsibilities are in the planning and organization of events, encouragement and cultivating of spiritual life, individual care and support.
Through our local congregation, Francisco also supports community care projects in Paris, and Stephanie provides additional spiritual direction in the context of Elan (association assisting new missionaries in transition to work in France), Escale (a place of welcome, listening, and prayer), and our local congregation.
