Supporting Older Adults in Colombia

The Covenant Church of Colombia (FIPEC) works to support older adults with their psychosocial, physical, and spiritual needs. Over the past year, FIPEC has stewarded your financial gifts to support pastors and their families in the aging process through holistic programs that encourage healthy habits, exercise, companionship, and economic support. 

In the city of San Marcos, older adults from several churches came together for a day of exercise and movement. With the help of a physical trainer, more than 40 participants learned different exercises they could do at home and the importance of movement in their daily lives to help prevent illness. 

FIPEC has also sought to better support their pastors as they age. Many pastors in Colombia have never had the opportunity to participate in a private or public pension program, so there is no income if they retire. FIPEC has begun to provide a small donation to their faithful pastors in retirement to support them in their everyday needs.
